During my first year of engineering, I successfully designed my own working Flex Sensors for the fraction of the price.

Responsibilities:
- Researched flex sensor functionality and resistance-based measurement principles.
- Designed a low-cost alternative that used carboard, piece of pencil shaded paper (carbon conductor), and aluminum foil.
- Fabricated sensor layers by cutting, shading, and assembling materials with glue and jumper wires.
- Built and wired the test circuit using an Arduino, resistor, and a buzzer to test the functionality.
Outcomes:
- Successfully created a working flex sensor at almost no cost compared to commercial ones sold online for $10-$20.
- Demonstrated sensor functionality through Arduino based resistance readings (0-1023).
- Showcased how you can engineer functional hardware using low-cost, readily available materials you can find around your college dorm, besides maybe the Arduino Kit.
